China’s Sept ‘13 LLDPE futures rise by 2.57% on stock market gains

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) futures increased on Friday, tracking the gains in the Chinese stock market during the day, industry sources said.

September ’13 LLDPE futures, the most actively traded contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE), closed at yuan (CNY) 10,565/tonne ($1,698/tonne), up by 2.57%, or CNY265/tonne, from the settlement price of CNY10,300/tonne on 14 March.

Around 1.62m tonnes of LLDPE, or 648,228 contracts, for delivery in September 2013 were traded on Friday, according to DCE data.

The Shanghai Composite Index increased by 8.12 points, or 0.36%, to close at 2,278.40 on Friday.
