Taiwan’s Nan Ya to start solid MA production in end-March/April

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics plans to start commercial production of pastille-type solid maleic anhydride (MA) at end-March or April, a company source said on Friday.

Its new 60,000 tonne/year MA plant in Mailiao started commercial production for molten MA in end-February and hit full operating capacity on 1 March, the source said.

The producer is offering its solid MA on 15 March at $1,900/tonne (€1,463/tonne) CFR (cost & freight) SE (southeast) Asia, the source added. Prices were assessed at $1,860-1,900/tonne CFR SE Asia on 8 March, according to ICIS data.
