SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tianjin Soda is expected to resume production in April, a source close to the company said on Friday. However, the source did not specify a particular restart date.

The plant’s 40,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) facility was taken off line in mid-January because of subdued demand and the Lunar New Year holiday.

POM is an engineering plastic used in precision parts that require strength and low friction and can withstand a wide range of temperatures. Other Asian POM producers include Polyplastics and Mitsubishi Engineering Plastics.
