LONDON (ICIS)--Huntsman has extended a distribution deal with Belgium-based specialty chemicals distributor Azelis to supply certain products from its subsidiary Huntsman Polyurethanes throughout Germany and Austria, the US chemicals producer said on Wednesday.
The deal, which comes into effect from 1 April, builds on a prior arrangement between the two companies covering the supply of key products from Huntsman Polyurethanes’ adhesives, coatings and elastomers range in France and the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg) region.
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Previously, Huntsman Polyurethanes had supplied customers in Germany and Austria direct. However, with demand for its adhesives, coatings and elastomers growing in these markets, the producer said it had decided it was the right time to hand distribution to another company.
Nicolaas Weyns, key account manager at Huntsman Polyurethanes, said: “The time is right to grow our ACE [adhesives, coatings and elastomers] business in Germany and Austria, and working with an experienced distributor is the best way to achieve this.
“We know that many of our customers value the extra flexibility that comes from sourcing products via a third party.”
