US jet fuel consumption falls by 2.8%, inventories down 1.3%

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US jet fuel consumption rates and inventories dropped for the week ended 15 March, a government agency’s report showed on Wednesday.

Jet fuel consumption was at 1.394 m bbl/day, 40,000 bbl/day lower for the week ended 15 March, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Stockpiles also fell that week, losing 500,000 bbl to 38m bbl.

Meanwhile, production rates increased by 32,000 bbl/day, or 2.3%, to 1.402m bbl/day, the EIA said.
