INEOS Phenol’s Antwerp phenol, acetone outage planned for mid-May

LONDON (ICIS)--INEOS Phenol will begin a planned outage at its phenol/acetone plant in Antwerp, Belgium, in the second quarter of this year, a source close to the situation said on Thursday.

The Antwerp plant has the capacity to produce 680,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 415,000 tonne/year of by-product acetone. It is due to be shut down from the middle of May to the middle of June.

INEOS Phenol declined to disclose specific turn-on and turn-off dates in relation to the outage.
