Russia's monomer, polymer output up in February

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of monomers and polymers increased in February, the country's statistics agency, Rosstat, said on Thursday.

Last month, the country's ethylene output rose by 18% year on year to 224,000 tonnes, while propylene production was 10% up year on year at 107,000 tonnes, Rosstat said.

The country's output of polyethylene (PE) was 23% higher year on year at 148,000 tonnes, and polypropylene (PP) production was up by 27% year on year at 65,800 tonnes, it said.

In February, Russia's production of styrene was up by 15.7% year on year at 48,900 tonnes, while polystyrene (PS) output was 34% up year on year at 35,300 tonnes, said Rosstat.

Phenol output was 1.5% down year on year at 23,400 tonnes, the agency said.
