SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) is expected to continue to run its 515,000 tonne/year mixed-feed I-4 No 1 cracker at Map Ta Phut at a reduced rate of around 85% of capacity before a planned maintenance shutdown in July, a company source said on Friday.

Technical issues are affecting the cracker’s run rate but the source did not provide further details.

The turnaround is expected to last around 40 days but the specific shutdown date has yet to be finalised, the source said.

PTTGC runs three other gas crackers at the site with a combined nameplate ethylene capacity of 1.86m tonnes/year. All three crackers are operating at 90% capacity this month, the source added.
