SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy has restarted its Mizushima-based paraxlyene (PX) unit on 21 March, a company source said on Friday.
The unit, which has a nameplate capacity of 350,000 tonnes/year of PX, was shut in end-January for a scheduled 40-45 days turnaround.
The company plans to ramp production rates up to full capacity in the near term, the source said.
The aromatics major operates a total of eight PX facilities in Japan, with a total capacity of up to 2.57m tonnes/year.
JX Nippon Oil & Energy currently has no other maintenance plans for the other units this year, the source added.
