SAN ANTONIO, Texas (ICIS)--The 38th American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) International Petrochemical Conference (IPC) has attracted about 3,000 delegates, AFPM’s vice president, petrochemicals, Jim Cooper said on Sunday. Further registrations were expected as the meeting progressed.
The delegate numbers were up slightly on the 2,950 total registered in 2012.
The numbers attending the flagship US petrochemicals event were “emblematic of the steady uptick in the industry", AFPM president Charles Drevna said.
“This is a very exciting time for the petrochemical industry and for industries downstream,” he added, with the shale revolution in America having implications for the global petrochemical industry.
The IPC continues through Tuesday in San Antonio.
