SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s major phthalic anhydride (PA) producer, Shandong Hongxin, has scheduled a maintenance of two of its three lines in Shandong province starting next month, a company source said on Monday.
The first line with a nameplate capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year is scheduled to shut down for maintenance for about 20-30 days in end-April, a few weeks later than originally planned, the source said.
The postponement was caused by the delay in the arrival of the catalyst, he added.
The second 50,000 tonne/year line, will be undergoing the same catalyst change in May. However, the company has no plans to carry out maintenance of a third 60,000 tonne/year line which was added last year.
The company will continue to run two lines that are not under maintenance at 100% operating rate to meet contractual obligations, the source said.
