SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Chongqing Jianfeng Chemical plans to conduct trial runs at its 46,000 tonne polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG) plant in the third quarter of this year, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Construction of the plant will be completed early in the third quarter and trial runs are expected to commence shortly after, Chongqing Jianfeng Chemical said.
Commercial production of PTMEG will begin in the fourth quarter once the trial runs are deemed successful, the producer added in the statement.
Demand for PTMEG is expected to increase in the Chinese domestic market, according to Chongqing Jianfeng Chemical, and the new PTMEG plant is forecast to bring in higher profit.
