China’s Sinopec Beijing Yanshan shuts phenol/acetone plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Beijing Yanshan shut its 120,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone plant at Fangshan area in Beijing for scheduled maintenance on 25 March, a company source said late on Monday.

The phenol/acetone plant will be taken off line from 25 March to 15 April.

Meanwhile, its downstream Sinopec Mitsubishi Chemical Polycarbonate’s 150,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant is shut from 15 March to 20 April, the source added.

Sinopec Beijing Yanshan has a separate phenol/acetone unit with a capacity of 160,000 tonnes/year in Beijing, and it is running at 90% of capacity, according to the source.
