Taiwan’s FCFC shuts PX, benzene units for 45 days maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) has shut its 270,000 tonne/year paraxylene (PX) unit in Mailiao over the weekend for scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The shutdown is expected to last for about 45 days, the source said.

The company’s 130,000 tonne/year benzene unit was also taken off line over the weekend for maintenance, the source added.
