SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Brunei Methanol Co (BMC) is planning to shut its 850,000 tonne/year methanol plant at Sungai Liang Industrial Park in May for 40-50 days to conduct scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

However, the exact shutdown and restart dates have not been confirmed, the source added.

BMC is a joint venture between Japanese companies Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) and ITOCHU as well as state-owned oil firm PetroleumBrunei.

MGC holds a 50% stake in BMC, while the remaining share is held equally by ITOCHU and PetroleumBrunei.
