LONDON (ICIS)--Operating rates continue to be ramped up at Vivergo Fuels’ biorefinery in Hull, the UK, a company source said on Thursday.
The 420m litre/year plant was initially expected to be fully operational during the first quarter of 2013.
“Bringing a plant of Vivergo’s size and scale into operation is a complex and challenging process but throughout the first quarter of 2013, large quantities of bioethanol and animal feed have been delivered,” the source said.
“Production will continue to ramp up over coming months and once fully operational, Vivergo will be one of the largest bioethanol producers in Europe as well as being the UK’s biggest single source supplier of animal feed,” the source added.
Vivergo Fuels is expected to mark its official launch in the summer.
