EVENING SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Here is Friday’s end-of-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: There are no crude snapshots for Asia on 29 March because of a public holiday.

NAPHTHA: There are no naphtha snapshots for Asia on 29 March because of a public holiday.

BENZENE: $1,270-1,280/tonne FOB Korea, up $10-13/tonne
Bids for June loading were quoted at $1,250-1,260/tonne FOB Korea that were countered with offers at $1,260-1,265/tonne FOB Korea. Intermonth spread between May and June was at a backwardation of $5/tonne

TOLUENE: $1,080-1,090/tonne FOB Korea, stable
The market turned quiet in the afternoon session with the absence of selling interest keeping bidders on the sidelines.

ETHYLENE: $1,260-1,300/tonne CFR NE Asia, up $10/tonne at the high end
A discussion is underway at $1,250-1,280/tonne FOB Taiwan for second-half April loading. No deal was heard done. On a CFR NE Asia basis, buying ideas were largely capped in the mid-to-high $1,200s/tonne versus selling ideas largely at above $1,300/tonne for second-half April and early May deliveries.

PROPYLENE: $1,330-1,350/tonne CFR NE Asia, stable
Selling ideas for second half April/May shipment were heard at above $1,350/tonne CFR NE Asia against buying ideas at the low $1,300s/tonne CFR NE Asia.
