China’s Fuxiang Chemical shuts Quanzhou BR plant on technical woes

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Fuxiang Chemical has shut its 50,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant and 100,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant at Quanzhou in Fujian province 28 March because of some technical issues, a company source said on Friday.

These shutdowns are temporary and both the plants will be restarted in about two days, the source added.

The company will run its SBR plant at 100% capacity while BR plant at 50% capacity after the restart, the source added.

Fuxiang Chemical is a joint venture of Fujian Petrochemical Industrial Corp, Meizhouwan Chlor-Alkali Industry and Fujian Huaxing Group.
