SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Qilu Petrochemical, a Sinopec subsidiary, plans to shut its polyethylene (PE) units and 70,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant at Zibo on 8-29 April for scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Monday.
The PE units comprise two high density polyethylene (HDPE) units, each with 70,000 tonne/year capacity, a 140,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) unit and a 250,000 tonne/year HDPE/LLDPE swing plant.
The supply of PE and PP in the Chinese domestic market may decrease as a result of Sinopec Qilu’s plant turnaround, according to local distributors.
