LONDON (ICIS)--An initial European styrene barge contract price for April has been agreed at €1,411/tonne ($1,809/tonne), an decrease of €64/tonne from the previous month, one consumer said on Tuesday.
The styrene market has been stagnant towards the end of March, with weak benzene sentiment and lower than expected demand weighing down on European sentiment.
There is an expectation, however, that April could see more buyers in the market as demand picks up and the turnarounds begin to have a more pronounced impact on availability.
The contract price was agreed on a free on board (FOB) Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) basis.
Further confirmation from other players is pending.
