HOUSTON (ICIS)--DuPont’s vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) plant in Texas has restarted after a few weeks of planned maintenance in March, a source close to the plant said on Tuesday.

A company spokesman would not comment on the turnaround, but sources at a recent industry conference said the 335,000 tonne/year plant in LaPorte would be finished by the end of last week.

Other major US VAM producers include Dow Chemical, Celanese and LyondellBasell.

Most sources confirmed the FOB (free on board) export range assessed by ICIS at $1,000-1,100/tonne (€780-858/tonne).
