SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes will ramp up operating rates at its methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) facilities at Ningbo after restarting them on 30 March, a company source said on Wednesday.

The source did not give further details on the operating rates.

The two MDI units, each with a nameplate capacity of 450,000 tonnes/year, are located at the Ningbo Daxie Development Zone in Zhejiang province.

The units were taken off line on 22 March because of hydrogen supply disruptions from supplier Linde Gas Ningbo.

Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes is the largest MDI producer in Asia. The producer operates a third 200,000 tonne/year MDI plant at Yantai city in Shandong province.
