SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yongsan Chemicals will shut one of its two maleic anhydride (MA) lines in Ulsan for scheduled maintenance in May to June, a company source said on Thursday.
The 18,000 tonne/year MA line will be taken off line for about 50 days, while the company’s 20,000 tonne/year MA line at the same site will remain in operation, the source said.
Yongsan Chemicals will be building up MA inventory prior to the scheduled shutdown of the smaller line to ensure uninterrupted supply to its long-term customers in the domestic and overseas markets, the source said.
The company’s two MA lines in Ulsan had undergone turnarounds in October 2012.
