HOUSTON (ICIS)--Argentina’s polypropylene (PP) prices are expected to remain unchanged in April, a source with Petroquimica Cuyo said on Thursday.
Demand has softened in March and domestic producers have seen much competition from imports, mainly from Brazil and South Africa.
Transformers see steady overall conditions and some report strong demand, but sellers notice a general slowdown, which cannot be pegged to a specific sector.
PP prices in Argentina are currently at $2,020-2070/tonne (€1,576-1,,615/tonne) DEL (delivered) for raffia, while injection material is in the range of $2,080-2,109/tonne, according to ICIS data.
Petroken and Petroquimica Cuyo are the two domestic PP producers in Argentina.
