HOUSTON (ICIS)--The maintenance of Braskem’s polivinyl chloride (PVC) production plant in Alagoas, Brazil, has been postponed to the second half of May, the company said on Thursday.

A 15-day turnaround at the 260,000-tonne/year PVC plant had originally been scheduled for April.

Other Braskem PVC production plants are not scheduled for maintenance.

PVC availability is easing in Brazil, as production problems that emerged after the blackout of November 2012 have been gradually resolved, substantial PVC import volumes arrived and inventories have slowly risen throughout the industry, local sources said.
