Shell pipeline leaks 50 bbl of oil into Texas bayou – Coast Guard

HOUSTON (ICIS)--A leak from a Shell pipeline near Pasadena, Texas, of an estimated 50 bbl of oil has been contained, a US Coast Guard spokesperson said on Thursday.

The leak was discovered early on Thursday in Vince Bayou, said Petty Officer Second Class Stephen Lehmann.

Crews from the global oil giant are working to clean up the spill and fix the pipeline, he said.

The cause of the leak is unknown at this time, Lehmann said.
