Ukraine Karpatneftekhim's chemical plant still idle after maintenance

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Production facilities at Lukoil's Ukrainian petrochemical subsidiary Karpatneftekhim remain shut down following maintenance work late last year, the Russian oil company said on Friday.

Maintenance was carried out at the Karpatneftekhim site in September-October 2012. It was not known when a restart could be expected.

Karpatneftekhim is based in Kalush, Ivano-Frankov region, western Ukraine. It has the capacity to produce 300,000 tonnes/year of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), 200,000 tonnes/year of caustic soda, 180,000 tonnes/year of chlorine, 250,000 tonnes/year of ethylene and 100,000 tonnes/year of polyethylene.
