HOUSTON (ICIS)--Further estimates on a Shell pipeline leak near Pasadena, Texas, have lessened the number of barrels of crude oil spilled to just five, a US Coast Guard spokesperson said on Friday.

Initial estimates on Thursday were that about 50 bbl had leaked into Vince Bayou.

But investigation into the spill by Shell and the Coast Guard found a much smaller amount in the water, said Petty Officer Second Class Stephen Lehmann.

Crews from the global oil giant continue with cleanup and repair of the pipeline, he said.
