Air Liquide starts up new nitrogen liquefier in Texas

HOUSTON (ICIS)--France-based industrial gases producer Air Liquide on Friday celebrated the opening of its second nitrogen liquefier in Cleburne, Texas.

Expanded production will increase Air Liquide’s supply of liquid nitrogen for the food and beverage, manufacturing, glass, electronics, oil and gas and chemicals industries in the region.

“Our expansion is proof that Air Liquide continues to see great potential in the growth of industry throughout the US, and we continue to seek and develop opportunities in communities such as those in Cleburne and Johnson County,” said company CEO Michael Graff.

Air Liquide did not disclose capacity or the cost of the project.

The company said it could hire up to 21 permanent employees over the next two years to support the expansion.
