LONDON (ICIS)--Planned maintenance is under way at INEOS Oxide’s propylene oxide (PO) facility in Cologne, Germany, which started over the weekend of 6-7 April and is expected to last for 3 weeks, a company source said on Monday.
As part of the maintenance the PO facility will run at reduced operating rates for the first week. Production will then stop for one week and will run at restricted output for the final week.
During this upstream maintenance period monopropylene glycol (MPG) production at the site will be reduced.
Contracts will be covered for PO and MPG during this period, the company source said, as they are working from a mix of stocks and some production.
The Cologne units have a nameplate capacity of 210,000 tonnes/year for PO and 120,000 tonnes/year for MPG, according to the company website.
