SEOUL (ICIS)--South Korea’s HC Petrochem is on schedule to shut its No 1 aromatics unit in Daesan in mid-April for a month-long turnaround and is currently operating its No 2 aromatics unit at almost full tilt, a company source said on Monday.
The No 1 aromatics facility, which can produce 120,000 tonnes/year of benzene and 380,000 tonnes/year of paraxlyene (PX), will be shut on 15 April for its maintenance, the source added.
The company is currently operating the No 2 aromatics unit at almost 100% after achieving on-spec production earlier this year, the source said.
