DUBAI (ICIS)--Saudi’s Gulf Packaging Industries Ltd (GPIL) will add 35,000 tonnes/year to its biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film facility in Al-Jubail, a company source said on Monday.
With the addition, the plant will operate at 100,000 tonnes/year in the fourth quarter of this year.
“35,000 tonnes will be added and the facility will operate at an increased capacity,” the source said.
The source was speaking on the sidelines of the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) Plastics conference in Dubai.
The source added material produced from the facility will be mostly exported globally.
The two day-conference, also known as GPCA PlastCon 2013, will end on Tuesday.
