NEW YORK (ICIS)--US polyethylene terephthalate (PET) February exports declined 29% year on year, according to trade data made available on Monday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
February PET exports were down by 8,906 tonnes to 21,321 tonnes, from 30,227 tonnes in February 2012.
Similarly, month on month exports were down, showing a decline of approximately 5% from 22,334 tonnes in January.
February PET imports also fell, showing a 17% decline year on year to 35,621 tonnes from 42,892 tonnes in February 2012, according to ITC.
Month on month PET imports decreased by 2% from 36,449 tonnes in January.
US PET producers include DAK Americas, Indorama, Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G) Group, and NanYa.
