HOUSTON (ICIS) – US exports of polycarbonates (PC) fell by 2.3% in February from the year ago period, according to a report issued Monday by the US International Trade Commission.
February US exports of PC were 33,702 tonnes compared with 34,479 tonnes a year ago. February exports fell by 13% compared with January 2013, when exports were 38,632 tonnes.
Looking at the year over year figures, the biggest increases came in exports to Korea, which rose by 39%, while exports to Hong Kong increased by 36%. These gains were partially offset by exports to Brazil and Singapore, which fell by 32% and 23%, respectively.
Major US manufacturers of PC include Styron, SABIC and Bayer MaterialScience.
