HOUSTON (ICIS)—US ammonia imports in February 2013 were down 1% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.
US ammonia imports fell to 449,735 tonnes in February from 583,536 tonnes in February 2012. Imports decreased in February mainly because of reduced product from the Caribbean nations of Trinidad and Tobago.
February imports decreased from 627,821 tonnes in January 2013.
Trinidad & Tobago at 239,024 tonnes was the major source of US ammonia imports, followed by Canada at 98,675 tonnes, and Ukraine at 28,018 tonnes.
Other sources included Venezuela, Russia and Indonesia.
