US February MA exports down 34% year on year - ITC

HOUSTON (ICIS) --US maleic anhydride (MA) exports were down 34% in February from the same month one year earlier, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) data released on Monday.

The US shipped 3,328 tonnes of MA in February, compared with 5,027 tonnes in February 2012.

Mexico was the top destination for US MA, at 1,162 tonnes, followed by Brazil (697 tonnes), the United Kingdom (339 tonnes) and Colombia (312 tonnes).

Major US MA producers include Huntsman, LANXESS, Ashland and Flint Hills Resources.
