US February nylon imports rose by 10% from a year ago – ITC

HOUSTON (ICIS) –US imports of nylon rose by 10% in February from a year ago, according to data released Monday by the US International Trade Commission.

Total February US imports of nylon were 7,470 tonnes in February, up from 6,764 tonnes a year ago and 7,076 tonnes in January 2013.

Imports from Spain tripled, while imports from Mexico increased by 90%, respectively. Imports from Germany declined by 12%.

ICIS provides pricing reports for nylon 6 and nylon 6,6.

US producers of nylon include Ascend Performance Materials, BASF, DuPont, EMS-Grivory, Honeywell, INVISTA, NYCOA and Shaw.
