China’s Pingmei Shenma to shut Henan caustic soda plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Pingmei Shenma Energy & Chemical (Shenma) plans to shut its 200,000 dry metric tonne (dmt)/year caustic soda line in Henan province on 20 April, a company source said on Tuesday.

The maintenance shutdown will last for about 10 days, the source added.

Shenma’s total caustic soda capacity is 450,000 dmt/year, according to the source.

Shenma is offering 32% liquid membrane caustic soda at yuan (CNY) 2,050-2,100/tonne ($330-338/tonne), according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
