LONDON (ICIS)--India's Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) has awarded local firm CIFC under its early April tender for 7,000 tonnes of ammonia, market sources revealed on Tuesday.

The Indian trader offered the ammonia parcel to the industrial group at $579/tonne (€446/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) Kochi (Cochin).According to the terms of the tender, which closed on 4 April, the cargo must arrive at the west coast port between 22-25 April.

Two other companies also offered: Qatar's Muntajat at $595/tonne CFR Cochin and Transammonia (Trammo) at $625/tonne CFR Cochin.

Last month, FACT awarded its first ammonia tender of 2013 to Muntajat – which sells fertilizer made by Qafco – at $590/tonne CFR.

That cargo was delivered on the LPG tanker Almarona on 20 March.
