SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Henan Kaixiang Chemical is planning to start up its new 100,000 tonne/year polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) unit at Yima in Henan province in mid-April, market sources said on Wednesday.
The start-up of the new unit has been delayed because construction work has yet to be fully completed, they added.
Henan Kaixiang Chemical has two upstream 45,000 tonne/year 1,4-butanediol (BDO) units. The two units supply BDO to the PBT unit at the same site.
PBT is applied in the manufacture of automobile parts, computers and electrical devices.
