MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's Kuibyshevazot is to form a joint venture with industrial gases and engineering firm Linde to produce ammonia and hydrogen in the country, the chemicals company said on Wednesday.
Kuibyshevazot said that the company's board has approved plans to form the joint venture with Linde subsidiary Commercium Immobilien und Beteiligung.
To be known as Linde Azot Togliatti, the venture would produce 1,340 tonnes/day of ammonia and 120,000 cubic metres/hour of hydrogen, Kuibyshevazot said. Financial details were not disclosed.
The venture, to be joint-held by the two companies, would be based near Kuibyshevazot’s existing production facilities in the Samara region, central Russia.
Kuibyshevazot produces some 500,000 tonnes/year of ammonium nitrate (AN), about 300,000 tonnes/year of urea, nearly 600,000 tonnes/year of ammonia, 200,000 tonnes/year of caprolactam, and 100,000 tonnes of polyamide-6.
