TORONTO (ICIS)--Suncor has begun a five-week maintenance turnaround at its 135,000 bbl/day refinery in Edmonton, Alberta, the Canadian energy and petrochemicals major said on Thursday.
In a notice to neighbouring residents, Suncor said it would seek to minimise noise and other impacts. However, the work could result in increased flaring, it said.
Suncor added that it has sufficient finished products available to supply customers during the maintenance period.
Suncor’s Edmonton refinery runs entirely on oil sands-based feedstocks.
