HOUSTON (ICIS)--US styrene producers said today that they did not issue any price increases for upcoming April contracts, in line with the recent drop in the feedstock April benzene contract.
The suppliers’ decision to not seek an increase for April styrene contracts comes as buyers and sellers are still looking to finalise March styrene contract prices.
Initial US March styrene contracts have settled a rollover from the previous month to declines of 3 cents/lb ($66/tonne, €51/tonne), according to market participants.
Additional March settlements are expected this week.
Major North American styrene producers include Americas Styrenics, Styrolution, LyondellBasell, Total and Shell Canada.
