SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan's Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) plans to cut the operating rate at its phenol/acetone plant in Mailiao to 90% capacity on 20 April, because of squeezed margins, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The plant, which comprises two lines with a combined 400,000 tonne/year phenol capacity and 250,000 tonne/year acetone capacity, is likely to run at the reduced operating rate through May, the source said.

The plant is presently running at full capacity, the source added.
