SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s Vinythai plans for plant maintenance in May for its 100,000 tonne/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, a company source said on Tuesday.
The plant will be shut for about one week in May for maintenance, the source said. However, the exact dates have not been confirmed.
The company will ramp up the plant’s operating rate prior to the maintenance shutdown to build up its inventory so that supply will not be affected during the shutdown period, the source added.
The plant, operated by Advanced Biochemical Thailand, a 100% subsidiary of Vinythai, is operating at above 70% capacity currently.
Vinythai’s major shareholders are Belgium-based Solvay and PTT Global Chemical.
