SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indonesia’s Musim Mas has started commercial production at its 100,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol plant in Medan at the end of last week, sources familiar with the company said on Wednesday.
The company, however, is unlikely to take any new bookings for May shipments as delays in the completion of the plant’s commissioning process have led to a backlog of orders, sources said.
“The output for May has been fully allocated to customers who were supposed to have received their shipments earlier,” a market source said.
The Indonesian company’s second 120,000 tonne/year plant, which is located at the same Medan complex, will be shut for maintenance once operations at the new unit have stabilised, the source said.
