Explosion rocks West Fertilizer plant in Texas, US - reports

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--An explosion ripped through a fertilizer plant north of Waco, Texas in the US on Wednesday night, injuring an unspecified number of people, the Associated Press reported citing city authorities.

The blast, which occurred at 7:50 p.m. Texas time (00:50 GMT) on 17 April, destroyed buildings in the town of West, according to TV station KWTX.

Reuters report quoting a city official said a nearby nursing home collapsed and there might be people trapped under the rubble.
