LONDON (ICIS)--German specialty chemicals producer LANXESS announced management changes at three of its 14 business units on Thursday.
The head of the group’s butyl rubber business unit (BTR), Ron Commander, will enter retirement at the end of this year, but until then will take on a new role within the company based in Canada, effective 1 July.
Guenther Weymans, currently head of LANXESS’ Keltan Elastomers business unit based in Geleen, the Netherlands, will succeed Commander as Head of BTR, based in Singapore as of 1 July.
Weymans will be succeeded as head of the Keltan Elastomers business unit as of 1 June by Torsten Derr.
Derr is currently responsible for the LANXESS Material Protection Products business unit (MPP), and will be succeeded Michael Schaefer, effective 1 May.
Schaefer is currently responsible for the business line Biocides at MPP.
There will also be a change at the head of LANXESS’ activities in Singapore. The current country representative, Ian Wood, will be succeeded by Par Singh, effective 1 September, the company said.
