LONDON (ICIS)--Sweden-based Perstorp’s phthalic anhydride (PA) and plasticizer operations in Nol are due to go down for planned maintenance over the weekend of 20-21 April for two weeks, a company source said on Thursday.
Stocks have already been built in preparation for the maintenance, the source added.
The nameplate capacity at the Nol site is 35,000 tonnes/year for PA and 65,000 tonnes/year for plasticizers, according to the company source.
Supply in the European PA liquid and plasticizers market is generally good as demand remains reasonably flat – although there have been a few signs of a seasonal uptick in the downstream construction and resin sectors over the last week or so, based on improving weather in Europe.
However, some market sources said that any seasonal pick-up in demand is also likely to be weighed against the economic climate in Europe, which remains fragile.
