SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korean chemical producer S-Oil has shut its No 2 aromatics unit in Onsan earlier in the week for a scheduled turnaround, a company source said on Friday.

The facility will be shut for about one month, and will be brought back on line around 20 May, the source added.

The No 2 aromatics facility, which comprises a reformer, toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit and a paraxylene (PX) unit, can produce 300,000 tonnes/year of benzene and 1m tonnes/year of PX, according to the source.
